THIS CEMETERY IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CONSTRUCTED TO ACCOMMODATE ITS RIGHTFUL MEMORIALS.
There has been a long-time confusion that caused many of the memorials for this cemetery to be listed in the "Brown's Mill Presbyterian Cemetery" behind the school house on Kauffman Road (i.e. Brown's Mill Cemetery). The BROWN'S MILL PRESBYTERIAN CEMETERY and the BROWN'S MILL DUNKARD CEMETERY are two separate cemeteries that are in two separate locations and maintained by two separate entities.
We are working on getting the correct memorials transferred to this cemetery. THE MEMORIALS LISTED SO FAR ARE THE MEMORIALS THAT BELONG IN THIS CEMETERY.
The Brown's Mill Dunkard Cemetery is on Friendship Village Road, off of Brown's Mill Road. It is across the road, diagonally, from the Brown's Mill Presbyterian Cemetery (named "Brown's Mill Cemetery" on Find-A-Grave) that sits behind the Brown's Mill Schoolhouse on the corner of Angle and Brown's Mill Roads, however, it cannot easily be seen from the schoolhouse on Angle Road.
This cemetery formerly served the Dunkard Brethren Church. It now serves as a public cemetery for the community. The original church building still stands in front of the cemetery facing Brown's Mill Road (Friendship Village Road runs beside the building back to the cemetery). The Brown's Mill Dunkard Cemetery is maintained through the Dunkard Brethren Church.
