Fleckles, 79, of Elmhurst, beloved husband for 60 years of Virginia, nee Harr; fond father of Gladys, Bill (Theo), John and Barbara Horton; grandfather of James, Kimberli, Daniel and Ted; great-grandfather of Jason; dear son of the late Gladys and Raymond; brother of the late Raymond and Vivian Novak; uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Murzim, a Purple Heart recipient and a member of the Villa Park V.F.W. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and racing in the NHRA. Visitation at The Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst, from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Services 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at First Baptist Church, 343 S. York Rd., Elmhurst. Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated for the Alzheimer's Assn., the National Children's Cancer Society and the First Baptist Church Sources: 1.
