David Miller, son of Philip Jacob Miller and Magdalena Rochette, was born on December 1, 1757, in an area east of Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania, and reared on his father's farm located to the northwest of Hagerstown and southwest of Maugansville. It is believed that David must have been married twice. It is thought that he married his first wife in Washington County about 1778 and had two children with her. He then moved north and west over the Allegheny Mountains into Bedford County, Pennsylvania, settling in the area of Morrison's Cove and Woodbury in the mid-1780's. According to Rev. Merle C. Rummel in ‘Brethern Life:" These families were settled on the far frontier. This was Indian Country and no other white settlers were safe. The Dunkers built homesteads here years before other settlers. The friendly relationship developed by these Brethren with the Indians of the Pennsylvania frontier in Morrison's Cove, Brothers Valley and on the Juniata River carried to this settlement on Obannon Creek."
After the death of his first wife, David married sixteen-year old Magdalena Abigail Maugans, daughter of Conrad and Rebecca Maugans, about 1783 in Pennsylvania. She was born on August 17, 1767, in Wolfsville, Frederick County, Maryland. In 1785 her family had moved to Morrison's Cove, Woodberry Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Between 1784 and 1801, they had eight children: Michael, Catherine, Esther, Elizabeth, Jacob, Nancy, Susannah, and Lydia.
David and his family probably left Morrison's Cove in 1795 or 1796, moving by raft down the Ohio River to join his father in Campbell County, Kentucky. After his father's death in 1799, David moved north into western Ohio, settling in Randolph, Montgomery County, Ohio (near present-day Englewood) by 1800. The move may have been spurred by their opposition to slavery. In 1801, he bought land in Clermont County, Ohio. By 1802, he was a charter member of the Stonelick congregation of the German Baptist Faith in Clermont County, Ohio.
Magdalena died on March 24, 1833 in Randolph, Montgomery County, Ohio, and David died on August 18, 1845, in Montgomery County, Ohio. He is buried on the Old David Miller homestead located on present-day Haber Road, Randolph Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, along with his son Michael and several descendants who make up a family cemetery of twenty graves.

Elizabeth was born in Morrison's Cove, Bedford Co, about 1793 and came to Ohio with her family.
Came to Ohio with her family. Lived in Randolph Twp, Mont. Co. on her father's farm where on July 2, 1812 she married her first cousin Isaac Miller, son of Daniel.
Isaac died prior to his father's death in Aug 1822 leaving five children and his widow. Soon after his death, his widow married Valentine Fackler.
In the spring of 1831, Valentine and Elizabeth Fackler moved to Elkhart Co., IN and purchased land south of Goshen dear New Paris. They lived on this land until about 1836-37 when they moved on west to Iowa along with other settlers. They settled in Big Grove Twp, Johnson Co, Iowa. In 1840 the Facklers were in Johnson County as was Elizabeth's son David Miller and his family. They remained there until their death in the early 1860's

On the 1st of Feb. occurred the death of Michael Fackler at the home of his brother Samuel. Brights disease was the cause of his death. The funeral was conducted by W. H. Fackler at the house at one o'clock on Friday.
Aunt Sallie Startzer was unable to get to the funeral of her brother Michael on account of a wreck on the railroad at Grand Junction, where she is staying, and no train went east in time for her to get here for the funeral.
Michael Fackler, whose death is recorded in these columns, was born in Ohio, June 14th, 1828, and came with his parents to Louisa county, Iowa, in 1852 and shortly after came to Fackler's Grove where they took up a large tract of land and Michael has lived in or near the Grove ever since. He never married therefore never enjoyed the pleasures or bore the burdens of marrying and rearing a family. He lived alone most of the time until about three months ago when on account of failing health he came to live with his brother's family, who tenderly nursed and cared for him. The greater part of the time he had to be helped from one part of the house to another, and altho he was a great sufferer he never complained and until a day or two before his death he had hopes of recovery. He often showed by words and actions that he was grateful to them for what they did for him. In spite of the exceeding cold a large crowd of friends assembled at the home of Samuel Fackler, Sr., to take the last look at all that remained of "uncle Mike," as he was familiarly known. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Fackler express their sincere thanks to the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted them in the last sad duties to their brother.

Minerva und Chreist heirateten am 17. März 1909 in St. Francis, Kansas. Nach ihrer Heirat ließen sie sich auf einer Farm 5 Meilen nordwestlich von St. Francis nieder.
