Funeral services for Minnie E. Zidick, Minot, and formerly of New Leipzig, will be Thursday, Feb. 1 at 1 PM at the United Congregational Church in New Leipzig. Pastor John Amundson will officiate and interment will be in the Congregational Cemetery.
Mrs. Zidick passed away Monday morning, Jan 29. at her home in Minot, ND.
Minnie Eugenia Werre was born Oct. 4, 1920 at New Leipzig, ND to Albert and Christina (Hoffman) Werre. She grew up there and graduated from New Leipzig High School, later attending Dickinson Normal School where she received her teacher’s certificate.
She taught rural schools for a time and in the early 1940’s moved to Detroit, MI where she worked in the investigating department of a motor company. There she met and was married to Andy Zidick. In the late 1940’s they returned to New Leipzig and began operating their electrical contracting business. After retiring, they moved to Minot for a time. Mr. Zidick passed away in May of 1992 and Minnie returned to New Leipzig to make her home, spending winters in Florida. She returned to Minot in 2002 to be near family.
Surviving are her brother: Almore A. (Janet) Werre of Falmouth, MA and Nokomis, FL, sister; Esther (Kenneth) Olson, Minot, sisters in law; Gretta Werre, Bismarck and Frances Werre, Wahpeton, ND, and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 sisters, Emma and Hertha and two in infancy, 2 brothers, Edward and Richard Werre.
