    Clyde Remboldt, 73, Jamestown, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Ave Marie Village, Jamestown.
    Mr. Remboldt was born April 15, 1937, at the family farm home, north of Gackle, N.D., the son of Edward C. and Ida (Hehn) Remboldt. He graduated from Gackle High School in 1955. He entered the U.S. Navy on May 30, 1955, at the Great Lakes Training Center, Chicago, Ill. He served on an oil tanker and was later transferred to an ice breaker USS Atka G-B-3. He traveled through the Panama Canal to the Arctic North Pole once and to the Arctic South Pole twice. He was discharged May 30, 1959, at Boston, Mass., with the rank of S H 3rd Class. He returned to Gackle and worked for the Gackle Packing Co.
    He married Alice Maier on Aug. 12, 1962, in Streeter, N.D. They lived in Gackle. In 1967, they moved to the family farm north of Gackle. They retired in 1991 and moved to Jamestown. She died May 19, 2009. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, and the American Legion Mayor-Morlock Post 250, Gackle.
    He is survived by two sons, Shawn (Cody), Lincoln, N.D., and Shay, Hugo, Minn; two sisters, Arlene (Lloyd) Veil, Streeter, and Twilla (Dwight) Wiest, Gackle; a granddaughter; and two special nieces, Debbie (Mike) Zimmerman, Streeter, and Kim (Jon) Hummel, Firestone, Colo.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two brothers, Kevin and Clayton.
    Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Bernie Jasken officiating.
    Prayer service: 7 p.m. Friday, Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown.
    Memorials: Red River Valley Hospice.

    JAMESTOWN - Clyde Remboldt, 73, Jamestown, died Aug. 4, 2010, at Ave Marie Village, Jamestown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle. Interment will be in Gackle Cemetery.
