Johann Philip (went by Philip) Rominger was the the third of twelve known children of Michael Rominger (1759-1818) and Anna Maria Fishel Rominger (1758-1848) who married 18 Jun 1780 at Friedland, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.
Philip married Elisabeth Greter (surname became Crater later in the 1800s) (1787-1870) on 16 Dec 1807 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Philip and Elisabeth were the parents of five known children, three boys and two girls, all born in Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. In 1831 the family moved to the Moravian community of Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Philip was a farmer. Some records indicate that Philip died 12 Dec 1860; but 12 Sep 1860 is shown on his grave marker and I will use that.

Caroline Rebecca Rominger was the third of five known children of Johann Philip (went by Philip) Rominger (1784-1860) and Elisabeth Greter Rominger (1787-1870) who married on 16 Dec 1807 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. This family moved from North Carolina to the Moravian community of Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana in 1831.
Caroline married her first cousin, Jonas Martin Rominger (1822-1904) on 27 Jul 1847 at Bartholomew County, Indiana., Caroline and Jonas were the parents of two known children, a boy and a girl, both of whom lived to maturity.
After Caroline died Jonas remarried to Sarah jones Stewart (1825-1901) on 10 Nov 1864 at Bartholomew County, Indiana and had an additional two children.
