Bartholomew County ist ein County im US-Bundesstaat Indiana. Bei der Volkszählung 2020 betrug die Einwohnerzahl 82.208. Die Kreisstadt ist Columbus. Nach Angaben des U.S. Census Bureau befand sich im Jahr 1900 der mittlere Schwerpunkt der US-Bevölkerung in der Grafschaft.
Bartholomew County bildet den statistischen Großraum Columbus, Indiana, der Teil des kombinierten statistischen Gebiets Indianapolis-Carmel-Muncie ist.
Geschichte:
Bartholomew County wurde am 12. Februar 1821 gegründet und nach Oberstleutnant Joseph Bartholomew benannt, der in der Schlacht von Tippecanoe verwundet wurde.[3] Der Standort der Kreisstadt wurde am 15. Februar 1821 von einem Team von Kommissaren ausgewählt, die zu Ehren von John Tipton den Namen Tiptona vorschlugen.
