Former Sutton Resident Edna Griess, 88, of Henderson died Thursday, Nov.11, 2010 at Henderson Care Center in Henderson.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton with LeRoy Hoyer, Tabitha Hospice Chaplin officiating. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery at Sutton. Visitation was 1-8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Henderson Health Care Services or Tabitha Hospice of York, Neb.
Edna was born May 4, 1922, to Arthur and Sophie (Ulmer) Roemmich in Clay County, Neb. She received her education in Sutton and graduated from Sutton High School. She married Jonathan C. Griess in 1942 at Sutton, Neb. She and her husband owned and operated the dry cleaners in Sutton for 35 years.
She survived by her son, Ronald L. Griess of Westmont, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law, Carol F. and Patrick M. Miner of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Kristy K. Williams and husband John, Kimberly A Kenney and husband Joseph, Kerri L, Dantino and husband Ryan, Angela R. Hastings and husband Reid, Amy M. Bolton and husband Brad; five great-grandchildren; two brothers Henry Roemmich and Arthur Roemmich; and one sister, Vera Reichert.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
