OBITUARY
Ethel Gallagher, 84, Jamestown, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Ethel Bitz was born June 16, 1917, north of Cleveland, ND, the daughter of John and Katherina (Harr) Bitz. she received her elementary education in the local rural school later attending Sheyenne River Academy, Harvey, ND. She then attended Valley City (ND) State College, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Stutsman and Kidder counties. She married John B. "Byron" Gallagher April 9, 1949, at Cleveland. They lived in Pnegree, ND, until moving to Jamestown in 1984. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown, and VFW Auxiliary, Carrington; and a lifetime member of the DAV. She is survived by her husband; a son, Bruce (Nancy), Jamestown; a sister, Virginia Job, Jamestown; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister
