Norman E. Harr, 71, of Yakima died Tuesday at his home. Mr. Harr was born, raised and educated in North Dakota. He moved to the Northwest as a young adult and worked at various jobs before becoming an insurance adjuster. He worked for Adjustco for 25 years before retiring in 1984. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of Yakima; two daughters, Nancy Roehr of Yakima and Paula Barrows of Warwick, RI; two brothers, Don Harr of Jamestowns, ND, and Oliver "Hoot" Harr of Mandan, ND; two sisters, Leora Thompson of Kennewick and Catherine (Wilbert) Stroh of Jamestown, ND; and four grandchildren.

Yakima-Norman E. Harr, 71, of Yakima, died in his home on Tuesday, December 23, 1997 after an extended illness.
Norm was born in Woodworth, North Dakota on September 15, 1926, the son of Jacob and Anna (Oswald) Harr. He was raised and educated in Jamestown, N.D., and moved to the Northwest as a young adult. He worked at various jobs for a time, then took courses and learned the insurance trade, becoming an adjuster and working twenty-five years with Adjustco, retiring in 1984 due to illness. He married Jeanette Jacobs in Spokane, WA in 1957 and they raised their family in Yakima.
Norm liked to bowl and really liked to golf. His travels to foreign lands were exciting and trips to Reno and around the United States were fun and enjoyable. He really enjoyed his family and liked his times with goups like the Elks and various insurance associations.
Norm is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of Yakima; daughters Nancy Roeher and husband Mark, of Yakima and Paula Barrows and husband Gary of Warwick, Rhode Iisland; brothers Don Harr and wife Judy, of Jamestown, and Oliver "Hoot" Harr and wife Jerri, Mandan, North Dakota; sisters, Leora Thompson of Kennewick, WA and Catherine Stroh of Jamestown; grandchildren Renee and Noelle Roeher, Kary Friel, and Nicloe Crandall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents, son Charles in 1980 and three sisters.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital in care of Shaw & Sons Funeral
