Anna (Bentz) Sandau, 86, of Lodi, died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital following a short illness. She was a native of Odessa, Russia and came to this country in 1906. Her family settled in the Dakota's and moved to this area in 1946.
Mrs. Sandau was preceded in death by her first husband, John Bentz, who died in 1967.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lodi.
She is survived by her husband, Reinhold Sandau of Lodi; five sons, John Bentz of Lockeford, Benjamin Bentz of Galt, Chris Bentz of Billings, Mont., Emanuel Bentz of Portland, Ore., and Jake Bentz of Lodi; two stepsons, the Rev. Wayne Sandau of Chesire, Conn. And Rodger Sandau of Fridley, Minn; one step-daughter, Mrs. DeVelda Roth of Glencoe, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Dingfield and the Rev. G. G. Rauser officiating. Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.

"Auntie Anna" had five sons and always said that her nephew John Weisenburger was like her sixth son. She and her first husband, John Bentz, are buried in a cemetary in Lodi.

She is survived by her husband, Reinhold Sansau (sic) of Lodi; five sons, John Bentz of Lockeford, Benjamin Bentz of Galt, Chris Bentz of Billings, MT, Emanuel Bentz of Portland, OR, and Jake Bentz of Lodi; two stepsons, Rev. Wayne Sandau of Cheshire, CT, and Rodger Sansau (sic) of Fridley, MN; a stepdaughter, Mrs. DeVelda Roth, of Glencoe, MN; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Dingfield and Rev. G.G. Rauser officiating. Interment was in Cherokee Memorial Par Cemetery. Pallbearers were Helmuth Hoffman, Walter Roth, Christ Ladner, Albert Kreug, Emil Zwiegle and Emil Martin. Honorary pallbearer was Tony Kardoza.
