NOTE
Came to the US 25 Oct 1889 on the ship Lahn. Went first to McIntosh County, ND, and bought land in Blumenthal Township. Homesteaded in Spring Valley (later Valley Springs) in Stutsman County, ND. Moved to Cleveland, ND, in 1914.
SURNAME
While most of the other Wöhls changed the spelling to Woehl upon arriving in America, Peter used the spelling Wohl.
OBITUARY

Peter Wohl, Sr. who for 51 years has farmed in the Cleveland vicinity, died at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Peter Wohl, Jr. early this morning. Mr. Wohl was born in Rohrbach, South Russia, February 15, 1864 [should be April] and came to the United States many years ago. He was a life member of the Church of God. Surviving are his son Peter Wohl, Jr. and daughter Mrs. Jacob Haas both of Cleveland, 21 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wohl died June 1, 1944. .
