Jacob Woehl was born on October 8k 1849 at Rohrbach, South Russia, the son of Peter and Katharine Woehl. He married Margaretha Breneise who was born in 1855 at South Russia the daughter of George and Elizabetha Breneise. To this happy union were born ten (10) children. They were: Margaretha (Adam Bollingers) of Medina, ND; Jacob Woehl, deceased; Henry Woehl, Wishek, ND; Christina (Andreas Hoff), Aberdeen, SD; George Woehl, Lodi, CA; Sofina (Adam Haas) of Ashley, ND; John Woehl, Lodi, CA and Fred Woehl of Wishek, ND.
Mrs. Woehl passed away at her home on the farm on May 22, 1891 and Mr. Woehl on November 20, 1933. Two of their children preceded them in death.

Jacob Wöhl was buried on Monday 13 Nov 1933 at the Reformed church in Wishek, ND. He was born 6 Oct 1849 in Rohrbach, South Russia, son of Rohrbacher settlers Peter Wöhl and his wife Margaretha, nee Hoffmann. He was baptized in the Reformed faith and confirmed in the Reformed Parish of Rohrbach on 16 May 1856. On 26 Dec 1873, he married Margaretha Brenneisen from Güldendorf. They had 9 children, of which one died in Rohrbach. Jacob Wöhl came with his family to America in 1889, where they settled 16 miles southwest of Wishek on a farm. Here two more children were born to them; one died in infancy and the other died at age 11. In April 1892 the mother of the family died. In 1898 Jacob married Margaret Ehresmann (nee Schott), who died in March 1919. Two years previously his oldest son Jacob had died. On 9 July 1919, Jakob Wöhl married Magdalena Vilhauer (nee Groshaus). In 1930 Father Wöhl's daughter Margaretha Bollinger from Medina, ND, died. He is survived by: his wife Magdalena, four sons: Heinrich, Georg, Johann, Friedrich and their wives; two daughters: Christina Hoff and Sophia Haas and their husbands; also a brother: Peter Wöhl in Cleveland, ND; three sisters: Elisabeth from Washington; Sophia, and Margaretha from South Russia; also 47 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jacob Wöhl died of old age on 11 November 1933 at 6:30 a.m. at the age of 84 years, one month and five days.

Our father Jakob Wöhl died on the 11th of November at age 84years, 1 month and 5 days. The burial was on the 13th of November at the Reformed Church of Wishek. He was born on the 6th of October 1849 in the colony of Rohrbach in South Russia, the son of Peter Wöhl and his wife Margareta, nee Hofmann. There he was baptized in the Reformed Church and was confirmed on 16 May 1865. He was married on 26 December 1873 with Margareta Brenneise from Güldendorf, and to this marriage 9 children were born, one of whom died in the old homeland. In the year 1889 the Wöhl family emigrated and came to Wishek, where two more children were born (and one died in childhood?). In Apr 1892 Mother Wöhl died and in 1898 the widower married a second time with Margaretha Ehresmann, nee Schott, who died in 1919, two years after his oldest son Jakob had died. On 9 Jul 1919 Jakob Wöhl was married a third time to Magdalena Vielhauer, nee Großhans. In 1930 his daughter Margaretha Bollinger died, so surviving him along with his widow are his children: Heinrich, Georg, Johann, Friedrich; as well as Christina Hoff and Sophia Haas. Also his brother Peter Wöhl of Cleveland, ND and 3 sisters: Elisabeth in Washington, Sophia and Margaretha in the old homeland in South Russia, and 47 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. ~ John Wöhl.
