Gust were held Feb 1 at the Philadelphia Congregational United Church of Christ in Ritzville. A graveside service at 3 p.m. was followed by Services of Remembrance. Pastors Earl Menchhofer and Pamela Smith officiated. Mrs. Gust was born to John and Lydia Reich Lobe on Feb 10, 1911, in Odessa. She was one of seven children. When she was a child, the family moved to Canada and then to Olympia before settling on a farm near Ralston. She married Emil Gust on Sept 22, 1929, at Ralston, and they made their home on the family farm there. They moved to Ritzville in 1956. Mrs. Gust was preceded in death by her husband in 1978. She moved to Moses Lake in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Melvin Gust of Ritzville, and Larry Gust, of Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. Marcial Heider, of Connell; one sister, Ruth Gillis, of Washtucna; three brothers, Lewis Lobe, of Ritzville; Everett Lobe, of Sequim, WA, and Gene Lobe, of Seabeck, WA; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery." (scrapbook item: 1992)
