Marcie Graham:
One child was born to this marriage, but it died in infancy. He (Jacob) was presumed missin g in action in WW2, but in 1970 Alfred and Ruth Wiest met Edward Gill of Weyburn, Sask., Canada, who knew the Wiest family when they lived in Kurudschika, Russia; and he told them that Jacob had defected from the Russian Army and had come to the US and that someone had talked with Jacob. Before the Wiest's could pursue this any further, Mr. Gill had a bad stroke and couldn't tell them anything more.
We do not know if Jacob married again when he returned to the U.S. All efforts to locate him and / or his descendants have proved fruitless to the present time [Jan 12, 2001].[Fred. S.FTW]
Returned to Bessarabia with his father and siblings in about 1912
Missing during WWI
What happened to his wife is unknown[Harold M Wiest 2.FTW]
