She married George Washington Huntoon, who was born on July 20, 1842 at Evanston IL and died on October 4, 1922 at Lake Forest IL. George had enlisted in Company F of the 8th Illinois Cavalry and was mustered out with the regiment on July 17, 1865 as Sergeant at Benton Barracks MO. The couple had a son, Charles Eugene, who also served in the military.(11/2001)ObituaryTaken from a LaPorte County, Indiana, newspaper-MRS. GEORGE HUNTOON-Word was received here today of the death last Thursday of Mrs. George Huntoon, age 83, formerly of LaPorte, of Lake Forest,Ill. The deceased woman was active in Women's Relief Corps work here about 30 years ago, and also in the Episcopal church. She left here about 30 years ago.
