The Funeral Service for Henry G. Rennich, age 94 of Lemmon, will be held at 10:30 on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon with Pastor Bob Edwards, officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon with full military honors afforded by the Brattvet-Green American Legion Post #66 of Lemmon.
Serving as casketbearers are Jerry Rennich, Dorothy Rennich, Betty Rokusek, Doris Zacher, Clinton Bender, and Perry Bender.
HENRY GEORGE RENNICH was born on August 26, 1920 in Elgin, ND. He was the son of Gottlieb and Magdelina (Schafer) Rennich. He grew up on the farm south of Elgin, and attended school through the eighth grade.
He serviced in the U.S. Army from 21 October 1944 to 26 March 1947, serving during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign.
On May 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to Freda Zeh of Elgin, ND in Lemmon, making Lemmon their home. To this marriage two children were born, Wesley and Shirley. After their marriage, he worked at the Lemmon Auto Chevrolet garage and as a school custodian until his retirement.
Henry passed away on Saturday morning, October 4, 2014 at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
Surviving family members include his wife of 67 years, Freda, one son Wesley Rennich, Huron, SD; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Larry Schafer, New Leipzig, ND; one brother, Walter Rennich, Lemmon, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ida Keopplin, and Martha Tietz, sister-in-law, Bernice Rennich, brothers-in-law, Jacob Keopplin, Ernest Tietz, Ruben Zeh, and Elmer Zeh; two nephews and one niece.
A memorial has been established.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 to 7:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
