! Information from McLean County, ND Heritage Book pg 87. Philip attended school in Canada and in 1890 he, with his family, moved to the US and located in Hartley, Iowa. Five years later the family moved to Tripp, SD. Philip came to McClean County, North Dakota in 1901 and worked as a carpenter. He purchased a farm northwest of Washburn and this is where Philip and Johanna made their home until 1929 when their son Harry rented the farm from them. After Philip's death in 1951, Johanna continued to live on the farm until her death in 1955
