Edna Dittus, 74, Marian Manor Nursing Home, Glen Ullin, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1992 at the Marian Manor.
Funeral services were held at Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin on Friday, Feb. 28, at 1:30 p.m. Reverend E. Edward Tornow officiated. Pianist was Candice Voegele, special music was provided by Edna Wetzel and Lester Miller. Casket-bearers were Chester Miller, Oscar Heinle, Larry Dittus, Richard Schneider, Daniel Miller and Clarence Schneider. Interment was made in Bethany Cemetery, rural Glen Ullin.
Edna was born in Grant County northwest of Elgin on Aug. 19, 1917 to Gottlieb and Sophia (Boehler) Sayler. She was raised and educated in Grant County and helped on the family farm until her marriage to Paul Dittus on Aug. 8, 1936.
Following their marriage they farmed southeast of Glen Ullin. They lived for brief periods in Medora, Fargo and other towns within the state. In 1967 they returned to the farm and operated it until 1972 when they retired and moved into Glen Ullin. Edna taught piano lessons, was instrumental in developing the Elgin and Glen Ullin Art Associations, and belonged to the Antelope Homemakers Club.
Edna is survived by her husband, Paul of Glen Ullin; one son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Marsha of Mandan; one daughter, Darla of Mandan; four granddaughters; one sister, Martha Miller, Glen Ullin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, five sisters and three brothers.
