Information from the Weishaar-Sayler book by Skip Weishaar Rudy was born 2 months after his father was killed in a farm accident near Temvick, ND. He grew up in the North Dakota towns of Temvick, Elgin and Bismarck, ND. In 1922 he moved with his family to Missoula, MT where he finished school and graduated in 1931 going by the name of Rudy Sayler. While in high school he was a star athlete in football, basketball, and track. He went on to the University of Montana for 1 year. After his marriage he lived with his wife and family in Missoula, MT and worked for the Daly Addition Store and drove a delivery truck for the Florence Laundry. In 1940 Rudy opened the B&R Market, a grocercy store.
Rudy Weishaar was known Rudy Sayler until 1956 when he started going by Weishaar. He sold the store in 1972 and moved to Harrison, Arkansas where he lived until 1980 and then moved back to Missoula.
