Information from Carol (Perry) Fuchs of Evansville, Indiana Family of 7 sons and 1 daughter
Information on the birth record for Johann Sailer comes from the St Petersburg records of the Rohrbach Parish on LDS Microfilm # 1895629/1 Pg 731 Reg 14. Also, additional information from Florence Sailer of Bismarck, ND. Florence states the marriage date for Johann and Magdalena Kunz comes from the Kunz Family History.
Information from the Beulah, ND Golden Anniversary Book (1914-1964) pg 189 gives the date of Johann's birth as Nov 22 1879. Johann and his brother Jacob left for America in 1901. They arrived in South Dakota where they worked for about a year. In 1902 the two brothers were joined by their parents and the rest of the family. They all migrated to Mercer County, ND the same year. Johann filed a homestead clain on 160 acres of land 5 1/2 miles northeast of Beulah, ND. After Johann's marriage to Magdalena Kuntz they moved onto Johann's homestead. It was here that al of the Sailer children were born and reared in the Lutheran faith. Johann was one of the organizers and charter member of the Zion Lutheran Church in 1914. Johann lived on his farm until his death in 1932.
