Sophia S SAYLER born 7 February 1899 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the daughter of Jacob SAYLER Sr. and Sophia KLUNDT.
Sophia at the age of 3 with her parents and her sister Katharina, sailed from the port of Bremen, Germany on the 3rd of June 1902 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse" on the 9th of Jun 1902.
Sophia married William Johann RIVINIUS on the 16th of October 1919 in Coleharbor, McLean County, North Dakota. This union was blessed with 9 children, 4 of those were adopted -

Information from Fred Rivinius & McLean County, ND Heritage Book Pg 684 Sophia immigrated to the USA in 1902 with her family, first coming to Scotland, SD and then settling on a farm seven miles NW of Garrison, ND where she grew to womanhood. After her marriage to William Rivinius, they settled on a farm approximately 5 miles east of Coleharbor and farmed in that vicinity for several years. In 1926, Sophia, Her husband and and four small children and set out for South Dakota not far from the Moreau River. Their new home was 10 miles west at Ridgeview, SD. They continued to farm there for 34 years until 1960 when they retired and moved into Mobridge where they had a "winter home".
