Information from McLean County, ND Heritage Book pg 536 Fresh out of the Russian Army, Philip ventured to the Unites States in the early 1900's. He settled first in Menno, SD but soon migrated to McLean County, ND area. After his marriage to Katharina Sayler, a neighbor girl, they began farming her homestead claim 7 miles north of Garrison, ND. He they raised their family four children. After the death of his wife, he married a widow lady, Rosina (Fauth) Oster with 3 children. They added four more children to the family. He and his second wife moved to Garrison in 1928 where Phillip worked in the coal mine. After the death of his wife in 1944 Phillip moved to the Pioneer Home in Wilton in 1954 and lived there until his death in 1961.

Phillip LANDSIEDEL born 16 September 1876 in Neuberg, Grossliebental, Odessa, South Russia Phillip Jacob LANDSIEDEL (1836-1906) and Barbara ROTH (1838-____).
Phillip at age 23 along with the Jacob OSTER family, sailed from the port of Bremen, Germany on the 16th of April 1901 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse" on the 24th of April.
His final destination recorded as Scotland, Bon Homme, South Dakota to join his step-brother Jacob SCHMIERER. The ship's manifest also revealed that Phillip had $20.00 in his pocket when he arrived in America.
Phillip married Katharina SAYLER on the 24th of April 1904 in Garrison, McLean County, North Dakota. The couple was blessed with 4 children; Edward, Albert, Gottlieb and Katherine - Bio by DG Bender.
