Leona (Nonie) Hieb Guglimetti was born June 21, 1919 in Lodi, CA., to Jacob (Jake) and Louise Hieb. She attended Harmony Grove Grammar School and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1937, she was an active member the school band. She graduated from Goodrich Beauty School in Stockton and worked for a short time as a Beautician in 1938. In 1947 she met and married Frank Guglimetti, formerly of San Francisco, at the Zion Reformed Church in Lodi; they made their home in Lodi. Although they had no children of their own, their lives were filled with the joy of 6 nieces and nephews; of whom they derived a lot of love and pleasure and much interest in all of their activities throughout their lives. Leona and Frank enjoyed a wonderful married life of 31 years; during which they built a business, Vic Myers Sheet Metal in Lodi until 1978 when Frank became ill and passed away. Leona continued to live in Lodi until her passing on December 27, 2010. She was a life-time member of Zion Reformed Church, serving as a Deacon for 2 years. She was a past President of the Lodi Garden Club, a member of various Bridge Clubs, and a member of the Widows Club. Leona is survived by her sister Dolores Munro of Lodi, Nieces; Claudine (Loren) Seibel of Lodi, Cindy (Stan) Spurr of Van Vleck, TX, Cheryl (Dick) Bitzer of Discovery Bay, and Mary Hieb of Mercer Island, WA., Nephews; Jim (Karen) Munro, and Calvin (Lorie) Hieb both of Lodi. She was preceded in death by her brother; Clifford Hieb in April of 2010. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 4th, 10:30 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, Pastor Matt Duerr of Zion Reformed Church will officiate. Burial will be private at Leona's request. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Zion Reformed Church, 105 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA. 95240. A virtual register may signed or tributes shared at www.lodifuneralhome.com.
