CENTRAL CITY - Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in Central City for Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of Central City, who died Wednesday at her home following a lingering illness. The Rev. Charles Fink officiated at the service held in Solt Funeral Home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Burial was in the Aurora Cemetery. (Omitted here are details of the funeral)
Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 20, 1891, in Illinois to Christian and Christina Nelson. She came at an early age with her parents and settled in Marquette, where she resided until moving to Central City in 1947. She was married to Arthur W. Jones in Central City on Feb. 17, 1912 and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jewell Gregg of Central City and Mrs. Gladys Suck of Palmer; one son, Wilbur H. of Central City; three brothers, Pete Nelsen of Minnesota, Charles Nelsen of Central City and Andrew Nelsen of Marquette; two sisters, Mrs. Tilda Nelson of Marquette and Mrs. Paul Dahlstedt of Grand Island; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one infant daughter.
