Frank, 87, Burke, South Dakota, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home. Gilbert was born January 21, 1924, at Herrick, South Dakota to Fred and Ernestine (Ulmer) Frank. He was a member of the Herrick United Methodist Church of Herrick, South Dakota. On October 15, 1950, he married Virginia Schrader. To this union, Gilbert and Virginia had three sons, LeRoy and Pam (Stanford) Frank, Terry and Darla (Drey) Frank, and Rodney Frank. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Aaron and Leslie (Jueden) Frank, Kaly (Frank) and Nathan Rutar, Ben and Sarah (Doescher) Swan, Sam Frank, and six great-grandchildren, Hannah and James Frank, Jared and Landon Rutar, Isaac Hewitt, and Maxwell Swan. He is survived by his special friend Ardelle Davis, two brothers Milton and (Alicia) Frank and Elmer Frank and two sisters Erna and (Carl) Carlson and Alice and (Lowell) Carlson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, his grandson Sam, three sisters, Leona Allum, Sarah Goodman, Viola Waterbury, and one brother John Frank.
