BENJAMIN M. PITTMAN, 71, of 210 Larch Ave., Chambersburg, died Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 20, in the Chambersburg Hospital, where he had been a patient for one month.
He was born June 11, 1912 near Mercersburg, a son of the late Russell R. and Ada (Hawbaker) Pittman.
He is survived by his wife, Laura (Beaston) Pittman; two daughters, Mrs. Ada Mae Harnish, 10668 Claylick Road, Mercersburg, and Mrs. Aletha Painter, Fort Loudon; three sons; Arthur B. Pittman, Chambersburg; Allen L. Pittman, Lemasters; and Arnold C. Pittman, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Daley, 240 Orchard Circle, Greencastle, and Mrs. Sophia Harnish, 11014 Shimpstown Road, Mercersburg; a twin brother, Samuel M. Pittman, 10659 Claylick Road, Mercersburg; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Lininger Funeral Home, Mercersaburg, conducted by the Rev. Ernest E. Laye. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
