[No documentation for a Hans Jacob Habbecker as the father of these three men. This has been sort of a "legend" and has been repeated, but I am still seeking proof.
In fact I have never found out if they are brothers, cousins, or what. There were 3 Habecker men and 4 Habecker women who arrived in America on the ship, "Charming Nancy." Some people have indicated that a couple of these were married couples. This hardly seems likely since two specifically named are Jacob and Joseph and they both married Erisman women. The 3rd guy on this particular ship was Christian and I have never found out what happened to him. He may have been the father, but I have never found any proof. However due to a somewhat popular naming pattern in Pa German families where the oldest son was named after the father's father, he MAY have been the father. There was a John Habecker who arrived on a later ship. How they fit I have never been able to document. However, they all married daughters of Melchior Erisman and thus they are at least brothers-in-law - if not brothers. By the way, I have a page from a Bible believed to have been brought to America by Melchior Erisman.]
