Col. John Page was a Middlesex, England immigrant who settled in York County in 1655. The Page family was of Saxon extraction and first appears in the historical record in 1273. Indigenous to the Middlesex area, the Pages were landed gentry by the 16th century. Virginia's Pages seem to have originated from Belfont, Middlesex. Col. Page was a member of the House of Burgesses starting in 1665 and joined the Council of State in 1680. He played a pivotal role in the founding of William and Mary.,
