Josephine Miller Lybrook Rudicel, age 95, died on October 30th at Hoosier Village where she had lived for the past three years. She was born on June 8, 1915 in Muncie, Indiana, and was the only child of Elmer E. and Harriett (Kirby) Miller. She was the widow of Judge Robert B. Lybrook and Dr. Max W. Rudicel.
After attending Ball State University for two years, she graduated from Indiana University in 1937 with a degree in business. During the course of her life, she lived in the Indiana towns of Selma, Franklin, Nashville, Martinsville, Kokomo, and Indianapolis. For many years she wintered in Naples, Florida.
She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and the Franklin Order of Eastern Star. Her interest included golf, her family and Republican politics.
Survivors are her children Robert E. Lybrook (Patricia) of Martinsville, Jo Katherine Durkott (John) and Mary Elizabeth Phariss (Stanley) of Indianapolis. Also surviving are her step-daughters Susan Benincasa (John Watson) of Nashport, OH and Jane Rudicel (Paul Drake) of Whitehall, OH. Her surviving grandchildren are John R. Durkott, Lora Huser (Jeff), Andrew Lybrook, Emily Johnson (David), Sarah Adams (Stephen), Bart Phariss, Alison Moran (Steve), Don Benincasa (Nancy), Diane Zeigler (Karl), and Dominic Benincasa. One grandson, Joseph Durkott, preceded her in death. Ten great grandchildren survive.
Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd at Hoosier Village Chapel, 5300 W. 96th Street, with calling beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Washington Park Cemetery.
