He conducted the Guthsville Hotel for many years and he started the first Hotel which was a log structure. In 1851 he built a brick structure which still stands.
Heinrich was known as "Der Vat Henny Guth"(the fat Henny Guth) to distinguish him from another Henry Guth.
Heinrich built a stone farmhouse in Guthsville in 1830, which is still standing today. Merrill Tait lived there from 1939 until at least 1976. Mr. Tait raised sheep.
Heinrich son Aaron started a half mile race track in Guthsville on the east side of 309 by Jordan Creek. It operated from 1854 through 1861 when it became to small and Aaron built a 1 mile track west of 309 where the brick kiln was. He enclosed the track with an 8 foot high board fence. It operated for about 2 years untill the Civil War depression forced it to close. Aaron also started the brickyard in Guthsville.
Heinrich had 5 kids.

Henry Guth, a son of Adam, lived at Guthsville, where he conducted a hotel for many years. He is buried at the Jordan Reformed church. He married Kate Butz, and had children: Nathan; Malinda, married Daniel Stettler; Lucy, married Solomon Diehl; Aaron, of further mention; Anna,
married John Miller. He possibly died apr 1 1857
