Stanley G. “Stan” Marchington, 63, of Pray, Montana, passed away of natural causes Saturday, December 24th, 2016 at Livingston HealthCare Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 30th, at the Franzen-Davis Chapel with Pastor Harlan Durgan officiating. Family burial will be held in the spring at the Emigrant Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at Franzen-Davis. Memorials are preferred to the family.
Stan was born on December 6th, 1953, in Livingston, Montana. He was the son of Harold Robert and Margaret (Davidson) Marchington. He received his education in Livingston and was a graduate of the Park High School Class of 1973.
Following his graduation Stan worked at Burkland Studs for some time, then relocated to Colstrip to work the coal mines. He then traveled with a construction firm throughout the North-West. In 1988 he had come back to Paradise Valley to help care for his ailing mother. After she passed he spent a few years in Bozeman before making the family ranch his forever home in 1993.
Stan was gifted with many artistic talents. In high school he performed in musicals and plays. He had a beautiful singing voice and was a brilliant artist. He played many jam sessions throughout the valley over the years. He also rode rough stock inhis younger years. He was a Montana man! Horseback riding brought him a sense of freedom and solitude. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing four-wheeler rides, coyote hunting, just about anything under our spacious skies. Stan and his father spent much time together cutting in roads on the Komatsu Cat.
Stan has been a constant source of support to his family with the remarkable care he has provided his 89 year old father. Thank you so much Stan! Blessed be his memory.
Stan is survived by his: father, Harold Marchington of Pray. Sisters, Marlene Whiteside and her husband Alan of Shields Valley and Lorna Marchington of Pray. Nieces and nephews, Enar Rosen, Amos Knight, Robert Knight, Falan Barnett, Alandra Knight, Peyton Knight, Nevaeh Knight, Emma Knight and Dane Rosen. Cousins and other relatives and friends.
Stan is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret who passed in 1989 and brother Harold Robert Marchington Jr.
