Elizabeth "Betty" Henderson Gillette, 67, formerly of Logan, Utah, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Village Health Care Center in Missoula from complications of pneumonia.
She was born on April 20, 1934, in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to Oswald Clayton Henderson and Frieda Rosa Senn.
After graduating as class valedictorian in 1952 from Sugar-Salem High School in Salem, Idaho, she attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On May 6, 1953, she married Jared Pratt Gillette. After the couple divorced in 1974, she married Ray Danner, to whom she was married for four years.
Over the years Betty was a homemaker and worked at various secretarial and bookkeeping jobs.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Relief Society, was very dedicated in all her callings and was known for her detailed preparation. Betty also loved serving in the temple and served as a church service missionary in Logan. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, home canning and baking.
Betty was a devoted mother and always supported her children in school, sports and their other activities. She was an industrious, hard-working woman and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and helpfulness. She was also non-judgmental, forgiving and accepting of others.
Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, David Gillette of Kirksville, Mo.; daughters, Ann Bell of Missoula; Christine Fishburn of Shenandoah, Texas; son, Paul Gillette of Pocatello, Idaho; and daughter, Linda McClellan of Twin Falls, Idaho; three brothers, Hyrum Henderson of Logan; Lester Henderson of Lake Stevens, Wash.; and Ollen Henderson of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Della Holladay and Lillian Dudley, both of Magrath, Alberta, Canada; 18 grandchildren and one and a half great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 5 in Missoula. Interment was at Magrath Pioneer Cemetery, Magrath, Alberta, Canada.
