The Palmer Journal, December 21, 1944, Linda Berney:
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Paul Kenny were held last Saturday at 2 p.m. at Palmer Church of Christ for Mrs. T. A. Gee, who died Wednesday morning of last week. A large crowd was in attendance.
Pall bearers were six grandsons: Dick, Jay, Lisle, Marvin Dean Gee, Claude Scott and Paul Liberty.
Flower girls were granddaughters, Marjorie Scott, Gertrude Gee, Bernita Nelson, Ella Jean Joseph, Alma Liberty and Evelyn Davis.
Chloe Peregrine, daughter of George and Alvira Peregrine, was born in Adams County, Iowa on February 11, 1873 and died at Palmer, Nebraska on December 13, 1944 at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 2 days.
At the age of ten she came with her parents to Clay County, Nebraska, later moving to Nance County where she lived with her parents until she was united in marriage February 12, 1891 to Truman A. Gee in Fullerton, Nebraska.
To this union six children were born, five of whom are living: Lena Scott of Palmer, Lura Wilson of Washington, Kansas, George of Watsonville, California, John of Chapman, Nebraska, Alvah of Palmer and Ella Liberty, who passed away in 1919.
For nine years they lived on a farm five miles south of Fullerton. In 1900 they moved to their present home near Palmer, Nebraska where she passed away.
She united with the Christian church at the age of 16. She was a devoted Christian, active in Sunday School work and church work. She never missed a church service without a very good reason.
February 12, 1941 Mr. and Mrs. Gee celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary when all five living children, all but 4 of the 21 grandchildren and all of Mrs. Gee's four sisters and three brothers were present.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Besides her own family, she cared for two orphaned grandchildren.
Her life was one of service. Many home in her community can testify to her good deeds in time of sickness or need. She was highly respected by all who knew her.
Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her passing three brothers, three sisters, 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
