ZIMBELMAN, Shirley A. Passed away November 4, 2013 in Liberty Lake, WA her home Almira, WA. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Mike and Joan Zimbelman, two grandchildren Karie (and Chad) Pierson, Cody (and Jennifer) Zimbelman and four great-grandchildren Ellie, Ty, Conner and Grace along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo "Snooks" Zimbelman in 1987, son Curt Zimbelman in 1969. She was a member of the Almira Community Church, Wilbur Historical Society, and Almira Cemetery Endowment Care Fund Committee. She worked for the Almira School for many years as an aide and librarian. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, reading and animals. Her biggest joy was her friends and family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial service, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11:00AM with Pastor Paul McArthur, officiating. Interment will be held at the Almira Cemetery, Almira, WA. Memorials may be made to the Almira Fire Dept., Almira Cemetery Endowment Care Fund or the Humane Society. Passed away November 4, 2013 in Liberty Lake, WA her home Almira, WA.
She was born on December 30, 1931 in Wilbur, WA to John and Thelma (Drinkard) Mobley. She grew up on the family farm north of Almira, WA. She attended school in Almira and graduated in 1950 from Almira High School. She married Leo "Snooks" Zimbelman on June 18, 1950 in Almira, WA. To this union they had two sons Michael and Curt. Shirley worked at the Almira Movie Theater, Almira Market, Almira Post Office and the Almira School District. A job she loved. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, reading and her pets. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Almira Community Church, Wilbur Historical Society, and Almira Cemetery Endowment Care fund committee. She was known as the go to person due to her recall and knowledge of the history of Almira. She was also known for her beautiful smile and gentle ways. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Mike and Joan Zimbelman, two grandchildren Karie (and Chad) Pierson, Cody (and Jennifer) Zimbelman and four great grandchildren Ellie, Ty, Conner and Grace along with numerous nieces and nephews.
