David Wahl, 73, of Wichita, KS formerly of Harvey and the state of Virginia died on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Veterans Administration hospital in Wichita.
Memorial services will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Tuesday May 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will take place at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the McClusky City Cemetery, McClusky, ND. (This is all Tentative re: time and places.)
David J. Wahl was born on May 3, 1942 in Harvey, ND. He was the son of Jacob and Olga (Rosenau) Wahl. He grew up in Harvey and participated in football and basketball while attending high school. He graduated from the Harvey High School in 1960. He attended North Dakota State University in Fargo for one year before moving to California. David joined the Navy and served as a construction inspector for the Navy Seabees. David married Christine E. Withrow on May 29, 1964 in Los Angeles, CA. He served with the Seabees in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, David returned to the United States and obtained his Architectural Engineering degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.
David and Christine lived in Williamsburg and Arlington Virginia. He designed many projects and specialized in residential and retirement communities; and the building of toll roads in Virginia. They spent their retirement years in Virginia and had recently moved to Wichita.
David is survived by his wife, Christine Wahl of Wichita; a brother, Bruce and his wife Betty of Harvey, ND; sister, Joyce Snyder of Leesburg, Florida and a large extended family.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, James Snyder.
