Graveside funeral services and interment will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. for former Taft resident Hubert Lee Scott, 70. The Rev. Sam White, pastor of the New Cuyama Assembly of God, will officiate at the services. Mr. Scott was born March 8, 1925 In Guthrie, Oklahoma and passed away October 14th at his Bakersfield home. He spent his early years in Oklahoma and received his education there. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the tank corps in the European theater. Following his discharge, he settled in the Los Angeles area and was an insurance agent for AAA of California. He retired in 1987 and moved to Taft and had resided there until recently moving to Bakersfield. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by is first wife, Jessica Rose Scott, in 1988. He is survived by his wife, his sons, a daughter, two brothers, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be at the Taft Funeral Home Monday until 5:00 p.m.
