William Ray "Bill" DENTON, 35, R.R. 2, Rochester, became the first Fulton county traffic fatality of 1964 at 12:10 a.m. today when he was killed in a one-car accident on the Old Fort Wayne road about one-half mile east of Ind. 25....... Mr. Denton was born on Aug. 28, 1928, in Kewanna and spent all his life in Fulton county, most of the time in the Rochester area. He was the son of Herman "Mike" and Dessie ZIMPLEMAN DENTON, who survive. He never married. Mr. Denton served two enlistments in the U.S. Air Force. His first was during World War II and the second during the Korean war. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a farmer and also worked with a tree trimming service. Surviving with the parents, of Rochester, are four sisters, Mrs. Richard (Irma) DECKARD, Kewanna; Mrs. Pat (June) CARSON, Logansport; Mrs. Tom (Julia) BURKETT, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Chet (Virginia) REITKNECHT, Cleveland, O., and three brothers, Robert and Jack DENTON, both of Rochester, and Jim DENTON, Winamac. A brother, Joseph [DENTON], preceded in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Ray E. MILLS officiating. Burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
