She was not quite 25yo, with two daughers, when she died of Bright's Disease (kidney infection) in 1923. South Whitley Tribune - February 1, 1923 When Mrs. Lula Mae Zimmerman(sic), wife of Roy Zimpleman, passed away at her home in Wabash County, two and one-half miles west of Bracken, Monday morning, following a long illness from complications. Sunday morning she took a sudden turn for the worse and continued to fail until the end. Lula Mae Zimpleman was born in Whitley county, south of South Whitley, on Feb. 28, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wilson, and died at the age of 27 years , 11 months and one day. In October, 1915, she was united in marriage with Roy Zimpleman, who with two daughters, Lorraine, aged 6, and Eva Lois, aged 4, survive; also the parents, four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Chas. Slessman, Whitley county; Mrs. Homer Walters, North Manchester; Misses and Addie and Ruth(sic), and Carl Wilson, at home, and Earl Wilson, of North Manchester. The deceased was a member of the Bethel Methodist church and was beloved by a host of friends who will mourn her untimely death. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the M.E. church in South Whitley with the interment in the South Whitley cemetery
