LEWISVILLE MAN LEAVES 126 SURVIVORS (Phillip W. Kahrig was born on 06 May 1890 (1880 on headstone) in Lewisville, Monroe Co., OH. He died on 18 Nov 1967 in Woodsfield, Monroe Co., OH.)
WOODSFIELD -- Phillip W. Kahrig, 87 year old retired Monroe County farmer, died at his home near Lewisville at 9 a.m. Saturday [Nov 18] leaving 126 survivors. He had been in declining health. Mr. Kahrig was a member of the United Church of Christ near Lewisville. He was born May 6, 1890, a son of Ludwig and Catherine Gertler Kahrig.
Surviving are his widow, Louise Pfalzgraf Kahrig, six sons, Lawrence, Alfred, and George, all of Lewisville Route 1, Edwin of Marietta, and Benjamin and Homer of Salesville; four daughters, Mrs. Alva (Pauline) Christman of Calais, Mrs. Marie Brooks of Mantua, Mrs. Clem (Sophia) Reischman of Barnesville, and Mrs. Robert (Minnie) Walters of Marietta, a brother, Fred, of Woodsfield; and 51 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren.
The body is at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Wilmer Grunwald will officiate. Burial will be in Middle Church Cemetery near Lewisville. Friends may call at the funeral home.
