George Wiest and Cathrine(Mose) Wiest came from Odessa, Russia in 1890. George was born in December 16, I842 and died September 13, I9I8. Cathrine was born in February 15, I845 and died May I, 1911. George and Cathrine and their children started out for the United States on September 20, I890. They came by ship and landed in New York
October 20, I890. They went by train to Dennison, Texas and stayed three months. On January 12, I89I came to Henrietta, Texas. They made the trip by wagon and along the route caught a train the rest of the trip. Bought land in Riverland Comniunity, Clay County, 320 acres and paid $6.5O an acre. They lived in a tent for a year. Built a house in
I892, lumber bought in Henrietta, Texas. They had three sons and three daugthers. They made a living by farming.
