Sutton-Oscar Roemmich of Sutton died November 9, 2004 at Henderson Community hospital in Henderson at the age of 89.
Funeral services were held November 12, 2004 at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton with the Reverend Dan Rogers officiating. Interment was in the Sutton Cemetery.
Music was provided by duet of Denise Ochsner and Sue Ochsner with Bev. Ochsner, accompanist.
Pallbearers were Doug Roemmich, Ken Erpelding, Chris Erpelding, Mitch Erpelding Clark Roemmich, Jeff Erpelding, Brian Erpelding and Jerry Ulmer.
Oscar was born November 14, 1914 to Arthur and Sophie (Ulmer) Roemmich near Sutton.
On April 20, 1938 he was united in marriage to Lydia Ackerman. They farmed south of Sutton until 1977 when they moved into Sutton. After retiring from farming, he worked as a maintenance man at the Sutton Community Home until 1989.
He was a long-time member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church and served as an elder for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lydia; one brother, Herman and two grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Wilbert and his wife Linda of Lincoln, Marvin and his wife Beverly of Des Moines, IA; daughter Luella and her husband Melvin Erpelding of Aurora; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry of Sutton and Arthur of York; sisters, Vera Reichert and Edna Griess of Sutton and Irene Scheierman of Lincoln.
Memorials may be given to Emmanuel Reformed Church or Hillcrest Assisted Living in Sutton.
