Ray Clement Aman, 78, retired grain operator and Army veteran died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 with his family by his side at a Great Falls hospital after a short illness.
Ray was born Jan. 2, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Aman in Lehr, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Lehr.
He entered the U.S. Army and served in Korean War. He was onorably discharged as Private First Class in June of 1953. He returned to Lehr, North Dakota, where he
managed McCabe Grain Elevators. He later transferred to Big Sandy to manage the McCabe elevator there.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Bosch on June 17, 1956 at Havre, MT. Ray managed the Big Sandy Grain Company until his retirement in 1980.
Ray was an active member of the Odd Fellows and American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, especially his grandfather clocks, coin collecting, visiting with his
friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers. Ray is survived by his wife, Gladys Aman of Big Sandy; son Brent of Polson, MT; two sisters Gladys Vogel of La Mesa, CA; and Vivian and husband Richard of Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Eugene Aman and Harry Aman, both of Wishek, ND.
Funeral services at United Methodist Church in Big Sandy. Burial with full military honors followed at Big Sandy cemetery.
