Funeral services for Anna Belle Nixon, 88, of Winnsboro, LA, will be 10:00 AM Friday May 11, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Albright officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be Thursday May 10, 2007 from 5-9 PM at funeral home.
Anna Belle Nixon was born to the union of her parents John and Mary Trisler Gemar on June 5, 1918 in Mayna, LA and passed from this life on May 9, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Mrs. Nixon was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church in Winnsboro. She retired from Tallulah Production Credit Association after working there 32 years. She was also a member of Mizpah Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star, American Business Woman's Association, Good Samaritans of Franklin Parish, and volunteered for Franklin Parish Medical Center Auxiliary (Pink ladies).
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Sam Gemar.
She is survived by a daughter: Francine Nixon Knierim, Harper Woods, Mich., "daughter" Cheryl Brooks Steven, Winnsboro, LA, "son" James B. Steven; Granddaughters: Donya Deshay Bradley and Smantha Steven Blount. Brother: Alfred Lloyd Gemar, Sr. Jonesville, LA; son-in-law: John Pfaff; sister-in-law: Faith Gemar.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Blount, Alfred Lloyd Gemar Jr., Jerrod Gemar, Johnny Gemar, Bill Wiley and Winfred "Topper" Wiley.
