Paul J. Hawbaker, 67, of 6601 Buttermilk Road Waynesboro, died unexpectedly at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital.
He married Loretta A. (Durham) Hawbaker on October 1, 1966, in Covington, Ohio. Born January 26, 1946, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Florence (Hess) Hawbaker. Paul was a retired farmer and was a truck driver in his later years often hauling farm commodities. He was a member of the Old German Baptist N.C. Paul was a graduate of the Waynesboro High School.
Surviving family, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Bonnie Eby and husband Levin of Chambersburg; three sons, Aaron Hawbaker and wife, Tammy of Waynesboro, Jim Hawbaker and wife, Sherilyn of Lafayette, Ind., Seth Hawbaker and wife, Lori of Waynesboro; four sisters, Phyllis Boone and Geneva Rapp both of Covington, Ohio, Lucille Yoder of Waynesboro, Linda Brubaker of Delphi, Ind.; one brother, Carl Hawbaker of Waynesboro; and fourteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Hawbaker home, 6601 Buttermilk Rd., Waynesboro with the Church Brethren officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Quincy. The family will receive friends at the Hawbaker home on Tuesday from 1 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m.
