Mrs. Boman was born May 4, 1930 at Neodesha, the daughter of Earl and Ethel (Fender) McDonald. She grew up in the Neodesha community. She married Richard Boman May 21, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2008. They lived in Larned before moving to Clay Center in 1960. She worked at Wardcraft and was a cook at Medicalodge and Presbyterian Manor. Survivors include two daughters, Rose Hager and husband Loyde of Clay Center and Roxana Boman of Abilene; one son, Richard "Rick" Boman and wife Mary of Clay Center; one sister, Mildred Bohannon of Larned; three brothers, Louis McDonald and wife Sybil of Larned, Frank McDonald and wife Barbara of Neodesha and Orville McDonald of Neodesha; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel, Clay Center, with Jeremy Pera officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ruth Boman Memorial Fund to be designated later.
