BARBARA BOWERSOX FROHARDT, 85, formerly of Royal Oak, died November 29, 2006 in Dearborn after a brief illness. She was born September 27, 1921 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Fred and Margaret Bowersox. Mrs. Frohardt held degrees in chemistry: BA, Grinnell College, 1943; MS, Columbia University, 1945. Prior to the birth of her children she worked for Texaco Development and for Chrysler Engineering.
She taught chemistry at Oakland Community College from 1965 until her retirement in 1990. She was past president of the Michigan College Chemistry Teachers Association and the Oakland branch of the AAUW. She also served two years as president of the Whittier PTA in Royal Oak.
She is survived by her husband, Roger P., whom she married June 23, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa; sons, Daniel (Katharine) Frohardt-Lane of Royal Oak and Allen Frohardt of Sunnyvale, California; grandchildren, David and Sarah Frohardt-Lane; and siblings, David (Norma) Bowersox of Bellingham, Washington and Marjory Barry of Great Falls, Montana. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on December 27 in Henry Ford Village, 15101 Ford Road, Dearborn.
