He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T. Zimmerman, 213 W. Ave. D., Bismarck, formerly of Zap and Beulah. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock from Faith Lutheran Church in Bismarck where he was a member. Rev. Erwin Wieland officiated and interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Duane was born May 23, 1927 at Fergus Falls, Minn., eldest son of Arthur T. and Thorey Melsted Zimmerman, and came to North Dakota as an infant with his parents. He grew up in the Zap and Beulah communities and graduated from Beulah High School in 1945 as valedictorian of the class. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 1949. After graduation, he worked for advertising agencies in Minneapolis, Minn., Fort Wayne, Ind. and New York City. For the past four years, he lived in New York City and was employed by the Sullivan-Stauffer-Cowles and Dales Advertising Agency in New York. He is survived by his parents and one brother, Daryl E. of Beulah. Pallbearers were: Albert Uhler, Dickinson, Rev. Gordon Neuberger, Wishek, Robert Boeckel and Raymond Isaak, Bismarck, and Herman Hauf and Waldemar Wallender, Beulah.
