Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, in the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home for Wallace L. Busch, 72, who died Wednesday, August 31, at his home north of Mound City. The Rev. W.O. "Jack" Yates officiated. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Busch, the son of Edward L. and Mae Farmer Busch, was born November 28, 1910 near Syracuse, Nebraska. The family moved to the Mound City area when he was a child and he graduated from high school here in 1929.
On March 14, 1936, he was married in Mound City to Ruth Gillis and they moved to the Gillis farm north of town where they lived all of their married life.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mound City and the Falls City Elks Club.
His parents and two brothers, Myron and Bill, preceded him in death.
Mr. Busch is survived by his wife Ruth; three brothers, Edward Busch of Tucson, Ariz., Francis Busch and Sam Busch, both of St. Joseph; two sisters, Marjorie Field, Mound City, and Ruth Buckingham, Kansas City; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service were Dean Heck, Harold "Breezy" Thompson, Carroll Caton, Chet Caton, Tom Caton, and Carson McCormack.
