"Mary Lou Bangs passed away on July 3, 2016 at her home in Healdsburg, Calif. of natural causes. She was 85 years old.
She is survived by husband of 63 years, Robert Eugene Bangs and their children David Bangs, Thomas Bangs, Cathy LaPoint Phelps, Cheryl Neff, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her sisters Donna Jean Peden and Sharon Marie Parks and daughter Barbara Brady.
She was born Meridythe Lou Kelley to Ethel Marie and Philip Glenn Kelley on June 15, 1931 in Omaha, Neb. Mary Lou graduated from Rapid City High and attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. She married Bob on Aug. 2, 1952 and settled in California and raised their 5 children before retiring to Blaine Washington in 1998. They returned to California in 2012.
Mary Lou was a warm and loving presence to all who knew her and her joie de vivre was an inspiration to family and friends."
